A client of the Scania representative office in Dnipro, Pavlohrad-based enterprise «Eurobud Plus», which specializes in road construction in the Dnipropetrovsk region, ordered and received a new branded flatbed platform from MPP «Modus» based on a Scania chassis with a 6×2 wheel formula.
During the re-equipment of the truck chassis into a flatbed vehicle, the following steps were performed:
- Manufacture of a subframe for mounting the crane-manipulator unit and flatbed platform.
- Manufacture of the flatbed platform (aluminum profile, with foldable sides, dimensions 6000×2500×800 mm). The rear body is installed at an angle.
- Fittings (quick-release supports and locks) — Bozamet, Poland.
- Rigging points reinforced for chain load securing (manufactured in Turkey).
The flatbed truck was equipped with the following additional lifting mechanisms:
- Installed behind the cab of the base truck chassis is an articulated Fassi F195 A.2.22 crane-manipulator (Italy). Maximum lifting moment 17.53 t·m, maximum hydraulic reach 8.3 m, lifting capacity at maximum/minimum reach 8.3/2.5 m — 2.075/5.85 t.
- Manufactured foldable ramps. The ramp is single-section, frame type, with a floor made of Euro-perforated sheet to reduce air resistance and increase tire traction of equipment transported on the platform. The uniqueness of MPP «Modus» ramps is that the ramp angle in the unfolded state is 8° — a unique solution allowing even low-clearance cars to drive on. Ramp drive — hydraulic. An additional adjustable hydraulic support is installed under the ramp.
- Winch with a pulling force of 4 tons.
Other features of the flatbed platform with ramp include:
- Platform floor made of Euro-perforated sheet, as with the ramp.
- Added metal protective sheet under the perforated sheet to prevent dirt from splashing onto the equipment loaded on the flatbed.
- Ramp reinforced to allow an asphalt roller weighing 9 tons to drive on.
- Reinforced joints between the body and ramp, and ramp and platform surface, to prevent damage when loading equipment.
