The 80-ton Palfinger SANY STC800 mobile crane on a four-axle chassis is a “highlight” at the CTT exhibition, one of the few imported cranes presented as new developments in the construction equipment market.
The five-section boom, with a length ranging from 12.2 to 47 meters, can be extended up to 64.5 meters using an extension. According to experts, the quality of machines of this brand already surpasses other peers from its Chinese origin. It is no surprise that this brand carries a dual name, with the famous Palfinger serving as its second name.
The pride of the manufacturers is the 8×4×8 axle configuration— all axles are steerable (meaning the 4-axle SANY crane has all steering bridges), and it also features a “crab walk,” which greatly simplifies maneuvering on the construction site.
This chassis solution is not shown for the first time; in Europe, a similar configuration appeared on cranes back in the late 1980s.
